How Can You Help ?
Sri Sharada Peetam is actively involved in a host of welfare activities, ranging from preservation of the Hindu heritage to making healthcare accessible to the common man. Devotees of the Matam all over the world are engaged in some form of social welfare activity under the auspices of the Matam. Here, we have attempted to provide details of some of these activities. We invite devotees to send us details of any welfare activities in the Sringeri Matam.
1. The Sharada Dhanvantiri Charitable Hospital, Sringeri
The Sharada Dhanvantari Charitable Hospital was established in 1979, on the day marking the 25th year of ascension of Jagadguru Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamigal to Sri Sharada Peetam. The hospital has completed two decades of service. The hospital is equipped with Operation Theatre, Eye Operation Theatre, Blood Bank, Intensive Care Unit, USG, Clinical Laboratory, X-ray, E.C.G. etc. While the population of Sringeri is 4000, more than 40,000 patients are being served annually, indicating that the entire neighborhood villages and towns are dependent on this hospital for high quality medical treatments.

Annadhanam at Sringeri:

In Sringeri Sharada Peetam, every pilgrim or devotee is traeted with hospitality, and offerred Bhojan during mid day and late evening everyday. To accommodate an increasing number of devotees and pilgrims, a Bhojan sala is recently constructed. About 3000 persons at a time can dine in this hall. This building also marks the celebration of the 25th year of the Sanyasa Sweekara of the present Acharya. |
You can participate in this charitable cause. By Paying INR 100,000 once, you can become a permanent patron of this scheme. Your donation is kept as an Annadhanam corpus fund. The annual interest of your donation is used for the Anna Dhanam expenditure. Your donation is exempted under Indian Income Tax Act.
Remember, atleast 500 persons will receive bhojan as prasadam in one day in a year from Sri Sharada Peetam with the help of your contribution to the corpus fund.
3. Vedapatashala: Sri Sharada Peetam is running Veda Patasalas in Sringeri, Kaladi. Vedapathasals are also run in various matam locations. The Vedapathasala of Sringeri has produced a number of Vedic scholars who are propagating Vedic dharma in different parts of the world. We welcome your participation in this valuable cause of preserving our heritage
4. The Jagadguru is also promoting the cause of good education and a few primary schools, High Schools, Colleges and Management Institutions are founded under the Mission.
5. His Holiness has always a great concern for the comforts and facilities of pilgrims who visit Sringeri. A number of guest houses and Rest houses are built to provide simple, but comfortable accommodation to pilgrims at Sringeri. In many pilgrim centers like Tirumala, Varanasi, Gaya, Haridwar and Rameswaram, the Sharada Peetam is providing accommodation through its branches founded in those places.

Mrgaseersha Committee, Salem

Sri
Acharya Mrigaseersha Committee is engaged in various religious and welfare
activities in Salem. Puja and procession of Acharya Paduka is performed
every month on the day of Mrigaseersha, the birth star of Sri Acharya. Every
month the chariot is decorated with various themes and taken around main
streets of Salem with the chanting of Gurumantra ( Sri Guro Pahimam Paramadayalo
Pahimam, Sringeri Jagadguro Pahimam Bharatitirtha Pahimam). It is pertinent
to note that this puja has been going on since 1989 without any break.
The Mrigaseersha committee also celebrates the Achya Vardhanti with welfare activities. Every year the committee distributes clothes, hearing aids, glasses, wheelchairs and such other implements to needy people. All these activites are carried out from charities received from devotees in Salem. The committee also runs a clinic in Sankara Matam premises. The purpose is to provide free medical service to all needy people. We welcome your participation in this valuable cause via donations ( to: Smt.
